The Core Strategy is our central planning policy document. The District Council has recently adopted the Joint Core Strategy, which includes Core Policy 1 — Affordable Housing.

This policy requires affordable housing provision on sites delivering 3 net additional dwellings, or more. Since adopting the Joint Core Strategy, the Government has published an update to the Planning Practice Guidance, which concerns thresholds for affordable housing provision.

In light of this, the Council will be applying Core Policy 1 within the context of this additional guidance regarding this matter. In designated rural areas i.
